Ricardo has an extensive training starting as with Law Degree from the University of Zaragoza in 1974; Master in Business Legal Advising. Business School. Madrid 1979; IESE Business School, PDG Course. University of Navarra 1991; High-level Athena Program at European Forum in 2011.
From 1991 he has promoted Bodegas Guelbenzu until its era and today again in Bodega del Jardín. Ricardo encouraged the start-up of two other new wineries, one in Aragon and another in Chile.
Ricardo has been part of the Group of Experts that advises the Foreign Trade Institute ICEX, in the Wine section of the Ministry of Commerce of Spain, also of the Association of “Grandes Pagos” in Spain, and he took part of the group of experts for Strategic Reflection, of the AIN and the CEN, for the diversification of the Navarra industry.
Ricardo belongs to Think Thank, Institución Futuro since its foundation, and he is also part of the Spanish Wine Federation.
In January 2005, he was awarded the Best Business Path Award by the Association of Entrepreneurs of La Ribera: “His well-established managing skills has led him to the conviction that the key to success lies in the know-how, together with generosity and enthusiasm of the workers with the objective of creating a differential brand.”
He has published the book “Guelbenzu, Making its own way in the World of wine”, where he explains how the sector is, and that the strategy of Guelbenzu, and today of Bodega del Jardín, to be Differentiated Brand with independence of the origin, and the commitment to liberal positions in order to compete in a globalized world. The book was very well received by distributors, customers and sector in general.
